Soeur Isaacson's Mission

Said good bye to my darling Ulunga and the epic Faaa and moved to the countryside today! Gonna miss Faaa tons and tons but I'm excited for the new adventure! Also I forgot to say but for the baptism last week me and soeur Ulunga were the witnesses!!! It was awesome! We took our vitamins and were jumping on! Monday we went to a members house named Hawkins (a man but veeerrrry fabulous) and he made me THE CUTEST SKIRT EVER!!! Yellow Tahitian print, I'm in love! He was the sassiest person, let alone man I have ever met but also so so so kind! Thursday we had a 7 hr CLEANING DAY, as directed by our mission president. We scrubbed every inch of that slightly falling apart, darling, bug infested house. We made a good cleaning squad. We had so many miracles this last week!!! What an amazing week!  Most importantly, our dear dear ami Papi Hiti GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!! We've been visiting him for 4.5 months now and after 2 baptism tries that fell through, lots of prayers and fasting and all the help from our members, he was finally ready to make this covenant with the Lord. His baptism was beautiful. The week before his baptism we weren't sure if he was going to be ready but the Spirit does wonderful things. I can really seeing the Spirit change HIM. Not just his actions or habits, but his character, his countenance. After his baptism he was radiant and he was so humbled and joyful. He just kept saying thank you and how happy he was. Thank Heavenly Father for this work! During the week we had a multi zone conference and my zone bought matching fabric to make ties and dresses. But there was NO ONE available to make our dresses in our ward so we HAND-SEWED our own dresses the night before and the morning of LOL!!! It was so ghetto and ...

“The joy set before us is the joy of assisting the Savior in His work of Redemption”.  He then cited Alma 29:9, “…and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.”    WOW what a crazy week! For P-day we had a foam archery war activity and it was epic! Low key shot the last winning point while stand on a chair behind a blow up target. Just sayin. #katnisswho Friday we went to the temple and I LOVE THE TEMPLE!!!!! I miss it so much, literally best place on earth. Just being in the one place I know I'm the closest to God, free from the temptations of Satan for a little while. I'm not allowed to say who said this but let's just say we're workin hard and the our beds are our friends at night.  We spent our pday last week in the city buying fabric, getting lunch, walking around, etc. Even as missionaries, elders shop like guys, and sisters shop like girls and it's hilarious to watch. Wednesday, we changed comps for the day and I was with soeur Homai, a fabulous Tahitian with unbreakable faith! We went to our first lesson, we were both a little tired but as our friend, an inactive member is telling us her story, soeur Homai get quiet. At the end  she asks if she can share an experience and she tells her about some of the trials she's been through AND overcome in life and it was JUST what the member is struggling with and EXACTLY what she needed to hear. Through tears she says, "yesterday I prayed and asked God to give me a sign to let me know that this is the choice He needs me to back, and He just answered my prayer." The...

How do you measure, measure a year AS A MISSIONARY? 525,600 minutes as a missionary WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!!!! Went by SOOO FAST! I did nothing to celebrate but ya know measuring this year with all the love I've received and it's been a reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllyyyyyyyy y big year. #grateful I just wanna say that we need to change. We have a real problem. We need to do better and be better. Specifically on one topic in particular. We need to improve on how we share our food. TAHITIANS AND TONGANS SHARE FOOD AS MUCH AS ALMA THE YOUNGER SHARED THE GOSPEL NO JOKE. I'm pretty sure I have never seen a Tahitian (or Tongan aka my comp) eat ANYTHING without offering to share with you. I'm over here making myself my food and eating all by myself and the Tahitians are inviting people to eat with them before even knowing their name! Never eating a can of Pringles alone again. Malo e leilei everyone!! Too lazy to organize this email so day by day update here we go! Monday: transfers, driving to and fro. I'm officially healed from the dengue! I LOVE MY COMP! She's like a Polynesian ball of light and energy all the days spreading love confetti in Tongan, English, Tahitian and french at the same time. Tuesday: Lost a fourth of a tank of gas driving people to their secteurs and picking up new missionaries then we stopped at the house right before our lesson that night and I fell asleep for 20 minutes and my comp just left me like that lol. Wednesday:Had a lesson with Kimihere, 7 yr old son of a less active member. We taught him and his 2 friends about the Holy Ghost by blind folding them and having them go to the other side of the room without touching the chairs. Yep I got the dengue this week. Its a disease that comes from the lack of mosquito spray... which I was definitely deprived of this transfer. I had a nasty fever, stomach pains, every joint in my body hurt, and a headache and I almost past out if I sat up for more that a couple minutes from Tuesday night until today. Feeling way better today but now I have a red rash from head to toe so we'll see how that goes... But the sisters were angels giving me all their apple sauce and staying at home for DAYS and making sure I hadn't died yet. Real VIPs. Other than that not much to report... staying in Faaa with soeur ULUNGA, my favorite Tongan (besides grandpa) ever! gonna miss soeur Faatau like the dickins love her TO DEATH!
