❄️ Joyeux Noël tout la monde!!!!!

Image
Joyeux Noël tout le monde!!! It's still weird that it's Christmas eve and I'm eating mangoes from our mango tree and sweating buckets. But Christmas is really fun here. People try to decorate like America and it's kinda funny but they try so it's cute. So I'm gonna talk about food again cuz I never talk about food in my emails right? I ate something called fafaru twice this week and let me just tell you- NEVER EAT FAFARU IN YOUR LIFE. Fafaru is raw fish that they put in a jar of sea water and leave on the porch for any amount of time from an hour to 3 days then you eat it with coconut water. It has the delectable texture of a boiled egg, a very raw chewy fish, and idk maybe really hard leaves that you can't actually chew?? And the exquisite taste of sea water, stinky fish, a dead carcass and a porta-a-potty. So basically, mmmm.... disgusting. But it's basically a ritual to be a real Tahitian so now I'm official. Also ate octopus and...

Worms, Holy McD's, Scrambled eggs, all the fruit

Hello my people!! So big news, I'm getting transferred already, even though it's my 3rd week here haha... I'm staying in the same house and it's actually closer to my house. They're changing a bunch of missions so they're white washing my ward and splitting another sector and putting us in one half. So now I'm gonna be in Matavai after Thursday! Kinda sad and sweet but they announced it in our ward on Sunday and afterward everyone was coming up to us sooo distraught because their fatamaraas (member dinner appointments) are scheduled for after we leave but they were all so excited to eat with us. So basically we have members feeding us like 3 times a day this week... good life right here!  Ok let's explain my subject.... That's a list of the things I ate this week... Let's start with worms shall we. -So someone gave our roomies (we live with 4 other sisters one being Soeur Semerau FROM THE MTC!! Love her) corossol  which is this huge gre...

I LOVE TAHITI!!!!!!!!  The one phrase I have heard the most besides iaorana / bonjour is "mange bien soeur!" (eat well sister!) Seriously everyone feeds us SO much!!! One member was talking to me during dinner and said "you sister missionaries always come here looking so skinny. We gotta feed you so you can come back by end of your mission and be like *puffs out cheeks and makes fat gesture*" so wish me luck. Spiritual experiences: This week I went to the temple with a recent convert for her to do baptisms and the temple is sooooo pretty!!! Felt like home, such strong spirit! Taught our ami (investigator)'s friends an impromtu rétablissement and one of them was crying and they both accepted for us to come back. Every time we share the first vision the Spirit FILLS THE ROOM. Pre-missionaries- MEMORIZE THE 1ST VISION AND SCRIPTURE MASTERIES NOW. Having them memorized in English has helped me SOOOOO much. God just helps his missionaries so much. I lite...

I'm Home. Tahiti.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH H.  Tahiti. That's it. I LOVE TAHITI SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!!  IT'S LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES ON EARTH!!!! It's SO Pretty!!!!!! My zone is literally just a road that starts at the base and goes up into the mountain. My constant backdrop is GORGEOUS green mountains with a waterfall way off in the distance. We ride our bikes up and down with jungles and shacks and fruit trees all around and I'm just in awe.  It's just so pretty here and the food is awesome, the fish doesn't even taste like fish IT'S WAY BETTER and there are flowers everywhere. every tree has either fruit or flowers on it. It is INSANELY HOT THOUGH.  You kind of just always sweat. Also I have at least 125 mosquito bites on my legs. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE, PEOPLE. Mamis literally run over to me and freak out and touch my legs and tell me to put sugar on them and stuff haha. It's so cute and fu...

Made it to Tahiti and I love it so so so much! Write you on Monday, love you all millions! Soeur Isaacson (happiest soeur on earth!) DAD COMMENTARY: Shaus just sent off a quick email to let us know that she's there. We also got a chance to talk with her while she was at the airport. It was wonderful!

Heel-clicking and Leafi

IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN ME ON SUNDAY. I was heel clicking and giggling and hotcocoa drinking and taking pics every 12 seconds. Good day.        I am SSOOOOOOO ready for Tahiti!!!!! I leave Monday at 6:15 and I can't wait!!!!!!! We had a chocolate tasting with the sisters and my bars of single origin chocolate (ask my father for more info) and it was a party.  SHOUTOUT TO MY FATHER AND MOTHER FOR SENDING ME A RITUAL CHOCOLATE SHIRT AND BAR AND HOMEMADE CHEXMIX!!!!!!!!!!! LITERALLY CRIED. Good day. Also I named my succulent my parents sent me. It's name is.... Leafi . (like Nephi but... a plant) I couldn't stop laughing for 10 minutes straight. Thanks parentals. The language has been hard, but I've learned so much about relying on Christ and letting Him help you.   Absolutely love this hymn, inspired me this week! Press Forward Saints 1. Press forward, Saints, with steadfast faith in Chr...

"I don't have bad days, just bad moments" 10 days!!!!!

10 MORE DAYS UNTIL I GO TO TE FITI  - I MEAN TAHITI!!!!!!!  Whose counting down? I'm not counting down whaaaaaaa....... This week has been hard and amazing and busy and good and all the things. I leave on the 19th and I cannot wait!!!! We taught a cute old brother that served in Tahiti  and I loved it! I might have only known what he was saying because he was acting out half of everything and translating the other half into french BUT that's beside the point! The spirit is DEFINITELY a universal language! I didn't need to understand what he, or my comp or I was saying to understand the the Spirit was present. We found out Soeur Brown does yoga and is boss. So now she's our cool yoga instructor and we do yoga on a little loft thing above the volleyball courts inside. So if one was to look up at said loft you'd see a yoga samurai doing hand stands and twisting like pretzel cobra and then me doing... not that... and maybe falling on face... tw...
