Soeur Isaacson's Mission

Did a service project in our bishop's faaapu/gigantic garden and that was a blast. We raked for like 3 hours nonstop while other missionaries cleaned and mowed and weeded and what not. And yes we sang EFY songs while doing so. At the end he gave us lemonade and starfruit and another fruit and coconut and durian which is NASTY!!!!! It tastes like death tried to make itself appealing by drenching itself in corn syrup. And also it doesn't leave your mouth. Ever. Also I did a split with soeur Lecacheur, a cute frenchie full of joy! We had a super powerful day and talked and laughed a ton! And then we went to a restaurant to buy food but the owner gave it to us for free awwwww. Side note: the people are so sweet here and give us SO much food! Today our neighbor calls for us and hands us a sack of mangoes and another sack of ramboutan, and a huge tin tray of bananas. And our RS president saw us at a dessert food truck and bought us crepes. Thank you for feeding us ALWAYS!!! ...

Yeah that only happens when you're on a mission... like the scripture in Jacob 5 when Jacob thanks the Father because the people were so afraid they fell over or when Alma the elder rejoices because his son got "curb-stomped by an angel" we missionaries are also happy when people have trials not because we like sadness in other's lives but because that means God can work with them. But yes, this conversation did happen. Me explaining a lesson to my comp: "then after we sang the hymn she got really sad and started crying..." my comp: "yay that's so good congrats!" then we both took a moment to realize what just happened... #wearenotmonsters Anyway, we had tons of miracles this week! We had a lesson that took 3 and a half hours BUT at the end our amis FINALLY ACCEPTED TO GET BAPTIZED. Hallelujah!!!! God seriously worked miracles. We spent an hour that morning trying to plan that lesson and we had a list of things the Spirit told us to do o...

Still in Papeari WAHOO!!!!!!!!! I love it here and I'm staying with my new comp soeur Kehl from France. She's awesome. Soeur Ruiz finished her mission aggghhhhhhhhh I miss her already she is a GEM. So full of love and energy and courage... like a little ball of fire XD ugh a bientot ma soeur, ua here roa au ia oe. Anyway, what did we do this week?  We had a going away party for soeur Ruiz where we ate way too much as usual, and they played Tahitian songs for us. This whole week has just been a huge party for her. Kind of a legend. We had a lesson with a papi who has never accepted the lessons before but FINALLY let us come over. He was so sweet and kind!! We talked and he wants to change. The Lord does amazing things.  We have 5 new amis that we started teaching this week!!! Happy 2020! What a beautifully symmetric year. Loved that I got to spend all 365 days of 2019 in tahiti! This week Heitiare and Tumata got married and baptized and it was wonderful! They were beautiful together and they were so happy. Afterward we had a huge dinner with Tahitian food (which is soooooo heavy holy cow). Their testimonies were so powerful, nothing but joy and gratitude for the choice they took to follow Christ. They were brought to tears saying "I know this church is true and that Christ is our Savior." I'm happy :) I spent a day with soeur Agustin, a filipino on a bike! I haven't ridden a bike in 8 months so that was a change. But she's such a cutie love her :) ALSO I found a PINK PINEAPPLE (12 yr old dream fulfilled) literally it was a pineapple... and it was pink... and I almost cried. And we had a good new year.
