How about... LOOOOOOOOOVE!

How do you measure, measure a year AS A MISSIONARY? 525,600 minutes as a missionary WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!!!! Went by SOOO FAST! I did nothing to celebrate but ya know measuring this year with all the love I've received and it's been a reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllyyyyyyyyy big year. #grateful

I just wanna say that we need to change. We have a real problem. We need to do better and be better. Specifically on one topic in particular. We need to improve on how we share our food. TAHITIANS AND TONGANS SHARE FOOD AS MUCH AS ALMA THE YOUNGER SHARED THE GOSPEL NO JOKE. I'm pretty sure I have never seen a Tahitian (or Tongan aka my comp) eat ANYTHING without offering to share with you. I'm over here making myself my food and eating all by myself and the Tahitians are inviting people to eat with them before even knowing their name! Never eating a can of Pringles alone again. I think their love language is food. True Christlike love right there.

Anyway, this week we met lots of new people and I love them ALL.
Papi (grandpa) Teri and his even older mom: He was in his doorway when we walked passed to visit his neighbor but when she wasn't home, he invited us to visit with him. He is Christian and started telling us stories in the bible and explaining his life story but every time we said anything or asked a question he'd close is eyes and cluck his tongue and just say "cherie, haere maru noa, faaroo maitai" or "sweetie, slow down there, listen well" and then keep talking. Hahaha he was so funny. And his darling mom on her rolly walker/chair and fuzzy socks and huge sunglasses was so so soooo happy that someone had come to visit them! She scooted over to us and introduced herself and told us how beautiful we are, then scooted to the kitchen and brought us back wafer cookies then back to the kitchen to bring us plates and a knife to cut the wafers lol. Then at the end she said "you two can come back tomorrow if you want, you girls are always welcome at my house, I'm so happy you came to visit me." Awww mami we will visit you all the days! Then papi played a song he composed about Jesus with the MOST intense facial expressions I've seen in my life and then he asked us to sing a hymn so we sang How Great Thou Art and he picked out the key and improv played with us. He was legit and so sweet.

Vaimiti and her mom:
We had a first visit with an ami, Vaimiti that was kind enough to give us directions last week. Her mom was there, again a VERY old and short and cute mami but surprisingly qgile! They have a GORGEOUS garden (they sell flowers/plants) and mami makes monoi (an oil made from coconuts and flowers they used in their hair and skin). We talked a lot about Christ and the importance of prayer and she'd tell us about the miracles she's seen in her life, how she confronted a witch doctor, etc. Then FOUR TIMES throughout the lesson she'd get up, walk over to her big bowl of monoi she's making and put some on our legs. The 4th time our legs and arms and hair and neck hahaha. Let's just say that we were shining after that lesson, and not just from the light of Christ. Then they invited us to eat and meet their family and mami sent us home with a bottle of fresh monoi. LOVE THEM!

Heiura: NOT a mami, she's 15 years old and staying with her aunt, a member, for school. We had a faatamaaraa (dinner apt) there and we talked about the book of Mormon and the joy we find in following Christ and she accepted to learn more! We fixed a lesson with her then she said "but can you guys keep coming back after that lesson and do visits with me like the missionaries did with my friends?" Bah oui we can!

We also had Stake conference and it was awesome! It is such a big deal here! We had a area seventy and the mission president and the 1st counselor of the temple presidency come and give talks. The area seventy said after this life when we stand before God "we're judged on the result, not the process" and I love that! The purpose of this life is to make mistakes! God wants us to work and follow the Spirit and help others and go out and BE! He KNOWS we're gonna make mistakes every.single. day. but He's not judging us on that. He's judging us on the person we become at the end, how we improve and how we apply what Christ teaches us into our lives.

K that's it! Have a fabulous week with our Father in Heaven. Ofa atu kia moutoru, ua here au ia outou, Je vous aime!
