Still alive everybody? Awesome. Sooooo this week..... We had tons of lessons this week and they were awesome! It's so cool often near the end of lessons the people we're teaching tell us "I feel so good when you guys are here!" "this visit made me so happy!" "Every time you two come over I just feel so refreshed!" YAY! It's cuz you're feeling the Spirit people!!! That's always such a good moment, knowing that the Spirit's working with them. We also met a soeur Faatau's mom's cousin that she has never heard of before so that was fun. Seriously we find people that soeur Faatau is related to almost every day. Here it is completely normal to make an entire conversation about how you and the; are related and who you both know and how they're related to everyone else. So I have some sad news. After all this time, after all the sweat and dirt and sun that we went through together, my Chacos broke. We left them outside a house for a faatamaaraa... little did we know we weren't the only ones with a dinner appointment that night... *horror violin music* when we came back it was dark and my shoes weren't where I left them and when I put them on my feet they were wet and felt weird so I hurried to the car and turned on the light and yup, my Chacos were the main course for some sneaky dogs. But I think there is hope! With some super glue and denim we're bringing them back! So don't worry, the epic tan line isn't going anywhere... Aaaaaanyway, we played a lot of "let's go to our amis house and hope they're there for the fifth time" this week. But we did get some really good lessons and our members are so supportive of our amis!!! Monday we played capture the flag with a bunch of missionaries at the church ...

What the heck? I'm 20. Officially the age when people stop remembering your age ("oh she's 20 something..."). Welcome to the adult world. For my birthday we had a little party with the sisters in our zone with pineapple juice, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I made, sashimi (delicious raw fish with lettuce and rice and a sooo good sauce) that we put bday candles in and soeur brown gave me the prettiest Tahitian flower (je t'aime ma soeur!!) We also celebrated our member's bday with him, Mataihau and his mom cuz his family was gone so we ate enought for 10 people and sang and talked. So fun and sweet! We met some awesome people this week! We met a guy named Andy who showed us around his garden to show us all his plants and his beehive for like an hour and that was one of the most Tahitian conversations I've ever had, talking just about plants and flowers and food and dogs and fish and nature. #tahitianpassions Then a family who I think ...

This week we had new missionaries come in so we woke up at midnight Tuesday morning to let them stay the night in our house, then 4am the next morning to drop one of the sisters off at the airport to go to the outer islands then the next day I have a migraine wonder why haha. Seeing them reminded me how lucky I am to serve a mission!!!! It is seriously a dream come true and I love being a missionary with all my heart! We had a lesson with papi Manuel (who was supposed to get baptized but got scared) and he had already started thinking about a new date to get baptized!! He really really wants to follow Christ and he's working had to gain a testimony for himself. We've realized that God knew he wasn't ready to be baptized last week so we're gonna keep working with him! I went back to Matavai, my old area, to go to Ipu's BAPTISM!!! Soeur Dias is gone :( I love her lots and lots, sad to not be with her anymore she was a POWERFUL missionary and we saw miracles together!!!! Bisous ma soeur! Now I'm with soeur Faatau, a Tahitian!!!! I might have been praying for a Tahitian comp so yay :) She's so awesome, soo excited for this transfer! For p-day last week we had a HUGE cooking day and made maa Tahiti! (traditional Tahitian food) and it was AMAZING!!!!! The member is a cook for really big events so we had 20 missionaries and a bunch of members all together. We made poisson cru, taro, poe (banana, papaya and pumpkin), hipo, puaa stirfry stuff and fafa. Oh my goodness gracious it was sooooooooooooooo heavenly good. Best maa Tahiti I've ever eaten and SO fun to make!!!! We grated coconuts and squeezed the shavings to make coconut milk,  cut fish and veggies, cooked the meats, cut poe, fried the hipo, all the fun stuff! Seriously basically a real Tahitian now haha. Had a temple trip this week yaaay!!!!!! Oh how I LOVE the temple!!!!! I wanted to stay in there for hours. Wow.  The spirit is always so strong and beautiful there :) Ate some more fafaru (rotten fish in rotten sea water) this week- yes it was green yes it tastes worse than it looks no I didn't throw up yes my companion took the rest home and ate it for 4 days in a row cuz she likes it.  We had several lessons with papie Manuel this week who's decided to get baptized and he's amazing!!! He stopped smoking and drinking coffee in one week and has read 1 and 2 Nephi in 2 weeks! He was so shy at first but now we can't get him to stop talking haha! He's getting baptized on Saturday!
