Joyeux Noël tout le monde!!! It's still weird that it's Christmas eve and I'm eating mangoes from our mango tree and sweating buckets. But Christmas is really fun here. People try to decorate like America and it's kinda funny but they try so it's cute. So I'm gonna talk about food again cuz I never talk about food in my emails right? I ate something called fafaru twice this week and let me just tell you- NEVER EAT FAFARU IN YOUR LIFE. Fafaru is raw fish that they put in a jar of sea water and leave on the porch for any amount of time from an hour to 3 days then you eat it with coconut water. It has the delectable texture of a boiled egg, a very raw chewy fish, and idk maybe really hard leaves that you can't actually chew?? And the exquisite taste of sea water, stinky fish, a dead carcass and a porta-a-potty. So basically, mmmm.... disgusting. But it's basically a ritual to be a real Tahitian so now I'm official. Hello my people!! So big news, I'm getting transferred already, even though it's my 3rd week here haha... I'm staying in the same house and it's actually closer to my house. They're changing a bunch of missions so they're white washing my ward and splitting another sector and putting us in one half. So now I'm gonna be in Matavai after Thursday! Kinda sad and sweet but they announced it in our ward on Sunday and afterward everyone was coming up to us sooo distraught because their fatamaraas (member dinner appointments) are scheduled for after we leave but they were all so excited to eat with us. So basically we have members feeding us like 3 times a day this week... good life right here!  Ok let's explain my subject.... That's a list of the things I ate this week... I LOVE TAHITI!!!!!!!!  The one phrase I have heard the most besides iaorana / bonjour is "mange bien soeur!" (eat well sister!) Seriously everyone feeds us SO much!!! One member was talking to me during dinner and said "you sister missionaries always come here looking so skinny. We gotta feed you so you can come back by end of your mission and be like *puffs out cheeks and makes fat gesture*" so wish me luck. Spiritual experiences: This week I went to the temple with a recent convert for her to do baptisms and the temple is sooooo pretty!!! Felt like home, such strong spirit! Taught our ami (investigator)'s friends an impromtu rétablissement and one of them was crying and they both accepted for us to come back. Every time we share the first vision the Spirit FILLS THE ROOM. Pre-missionaries- MEMORIZE THE 1ST VISION AND SCRIPTURE MASTERIES NOW. Having them memorized in English has helped me SOOOOO much.
