Families are forever!!!! Chinese cuisine pro here I come!
For pday we went to a burger place and I got the biggest juiciest burger. It was incredible.
Tuesday we went to try to track down our 17 year old amis who's been avoiding us (haha can't hide from the missionaries forever!) and a gorgoeus moana-looking girl walked up to us and asked if she could take the lessons with us... BAH OUI!!! So we sit down and start talking and find out her name is esperance, she's a member but inactive and is 16 years old. Turns out her dad is in prison right now because he beat her and her sisters and mom so they called the police on him. She told us her whole story and wow. She had so many hard things in her life right now, SO MANY. But the most amazing part is that she's so strong and happy and loving! She seriously had a light radiating from her face! And she wants to meet with us so that she can come back to church and eventually serve a mission!!!! She came on Sunday and man I love her. What a example.
This week we tried to visit a member's mom's house (whose not a member and doesn't like the missionaries) and when they saw us at the gate they waved at us to go away and closed the automatic gate from inside their house. We laughed and walked away. THEN we got invited today to go to their house by the member for an "activity" we get there and her parents are there and they were so cute and sweet! They're Chinese, but born and raised in Tahiti. They grow lots of plants and they make a Chinese dish called "lopay pan" or "navé" so they showed us how to make it! They make a dough from types of flour and tapioca, then roll it out in little circles and fill it with a shredded veggies and meat stirfry and wrap it up like a dumpling (think the Pixar short before incredible 2) and it was SO FUN! We talked and talked with the mamie and papie and laughed and ate and it was awesome.

Aaaaaaand got proposed to again this week. 2 down, we'll see how many more to go haha...
Had a split with Soeur Brown and we invited 4 people to get baptized and 3 said yes! We also talked about what a blessing it is to be missionaries! We are so lucky to be working side by side the Lord, helping Him with His great work! Yay !!!
We contacted an Advantist (Evangelist I thing in English??) reference when they were in the middle of their "pre-sabbath preparation", where they hold a little family night, they pray, read scriptures and sing while the husband, Eli Make plays the guitar. So, like the normal Tahitian way, they invite us in without even knowing our names and invite us to sit down and sing with them!!! Eli Make with his mom, his wife and new born baby, we all sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and listened to other advantist hymns, then shared a scripture, prayed and left. They invited us to stay for dinner but we had to go :( It was so out of the blue but beautiful!!! Definitely going back, gotta love Tahitians!
Saturday I found out that my grandpa passed away, which was hard. Found out that night and I cried for a while. But I was filled with peace cuz i know i'm gonna see him again. The Lord really prepared me for that day, and I'm SO THANKFUL for eternal families! Miss ya grandpa, give a kiss to Ben and Eli, I'll play backgammon with ya in heaven!
Keep being your fabulous selves! Bye!!!
Soeur Isaacson
