GENERAL CONFERENCE YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!

GENERAL CONFERENCE YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! Oh wow loved it so much. We woke up at 4:30 to watched it direct (see photo where I look dead in car with my dead comp and the somehow always gorgeous Soeur Fowers) in the bishops office with all the Americans in English with way too much food (conference chips baby) and it was just amazing. Watched a couple talks in French and it was cool to understand! Except when they made jokes... Loved elder Gong's (I think?) talk about the Savior being the Lamb and the Shepherd. That shows me His infinance, that He knows the role of being a member of The Godhead, our Ruler and Guardian but also the role of being below us all, being completely helpless and small and was sacrificed for us.
So I don't remember if i talked about Kathy before but we met her one day and pretty sure she was on drugs cuz she was telling us that she was Satan and we're angels and all sorts of stuff but we kept seeing her by chance and every time she was more and more accepting and open and we finally taught a lesson with her!!! She was sooo cute and excited and open and touched. She cried several times and just thanking us for bringing her the knowledge of Jesus Christ and God. She can feel and see the light and joy without even understanding it. She doesn't really even understand that God loves her and that she's His daughter but she loves just being with us!
But turns out there might actually be an evil spirit in her, we had a couple red flags... gonna bring some priesthood holders to the next lesson to give her a blessing yay!

Turns out there's actually a lot of problems with evil spirits here. That's fun. Never really had a problem but I've been thoroughly explained on what to do so yo girl is basically a ghost buster.

Also got low key proposed to this week. We were at the end of a lesson with Weena and Taaroa a SUPER awesome couple that is so excited about the gospel and we were just about to invite them to get baptized and the Taaroa stands up and walks in the house to put the baby down then a weird guy walks over and sits down with us and starts talking with us and bam spirit gone. Quelle échec. We just kind of wrapped up the lesson but it was crazy to see Satan trying to stop the Lord's work. Don't worry Satan, you can't stop us forever!
But after we ended the lesson the guy proposed to us... aaaand then we left. When Satan sends guys to propose to you to stop you from baptizing people. That's just low.

Yesterday we went to a funeral of an amazing papie in our ward who died of cancer. There was one day we were walking home in the evening after a meeting and he saw us while riding home on his biked and got off and walked with us even though he literally has cancer and was super tired, just cuz he wanted to make sure we were safe. 
His family's not members and man am I so grateful for the gospel and God's plan. They were so distraught and it made me cry just seeing their hopelessness. God loves His children too much to not let us see our loved ones again. He has the perfect most joyful and hopeful plan for us.

Learned about patience and the influence of the Spirit this week. Had several amis (investigators) and inactive members who honestly didn't think they were changing or progressing but after weeks or months of visiting them and bringing the Spirit into their home they've changed and are turning their lives toward God and helping others and all this stuff without us even knowing! We cannot see everything we do and definitely cannot see all the things the Spirit does, but man God can and He works with His children constantly!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH H.  Tahiti. That's it. I LOVE TAHITI SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!!  IT'S LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES ON EARTH!!!! It's SO Pretty!!!!!! My zone is literally just a road that starts at the base and goes up into the mountain. My constant backdrop is GORGEOUS green mountains with a waterfall way off in the distance. We ride our bikes up and down with jungles and shacks and fruit trees all around and I'm just in awe.  It's just so pretty here and the food is awesome, the fish doesn't even taste like fish IT'S WAY BETTER and there are flowers everywhere. every tree has either fruit or flowers on it. It is INSANELY HOT THOUGH.  You kind of just always sweat. Also I have at least 125 mosquito bites on my legs. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE, PEOPLE. Iaorana!!!!!!!!  Can I just say I loooooooove Tahitian!!!!  Fave words:  haamahanahana (enlighten)  nehenehe (can/beautiful)  haamaruuru (to thank)  faaamu (to feed)  faahaamana'oraa (reminder)  it's so weird and hard but I LOVE IT! Absolutely beautiful and fun and genius! We taught Tahitian members and RMs (TRC) on the SECOND DAY of Tahitian and it was awesome! That would've freaked out my pre-mission self but now I was just excited to get thrown in the deep end right off the bat. We literally just read phrases off our paper (after kind of learning how to pray and the pronunciation of words) and said maitai (good) to everything. It really helped because I'm a lot less scared to teach my teachers and learn Tahitian in general.It's super backwards and like caveman talk but SO beautiful and really humbling and mind blowing. Oh yeah I'm a missionary...

OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THIS!!! It's seriously just so much fun and so exciting. It's honestly not as hard or busy as I thought it would be (thank you all for your tips and advice). It's like EFY or college just with a spiritual typhoon. You have a full day, but we have down time and freedom to choose when we do things. The first week was awesome! I said my first prayer in French so WAHOO! Missionary life is seriously just normal life with the spirit helping you accomplish a specific purpose. The first two days I'd be walking with ma collegue (companion) and I'd see to elders with name tags and thing 'Wow look! Missionaries!...' then remember that we're all missionaries, including me. Haha good times... I love finally being here and wearing a name tag and learning the gospel en francais. I still feel like me though. Just regular old Shaustia wearing cute dresses and saying #worthit and ' je ne sais pas ' too many times to admit. So far Fren...
